Works as discribed
Got this after the purchase of a tailgator. It senses the removal of the cable and alerts you from inside your RV that a theft is in process. One of the reviews I read said it wasn't loud enough. It is loud enough for inside you probably wont hear it from outside unless your right next to your rv, but if your outside no one is going to be trying to take it right? I also paired this with a brinks cable and paddle locks for extra security.

Now I used this alarm for a while I can tell it works great. We did some testing by removing the cable from the dish and the alarm went off right away. Looking at the TV picture we do not see a difference when attached or not attached so I assume there is no signal lost. It is hooked up to a Dish Wally receiver and a Winegard Pathway X2. The power of the receiver is connected to a switch that I flip after I connected the Satellite dish. Makes life easy! The only wish I have is that it would "whale" a bit instead of a constant pitch. *Be aware that it is not a guaranteed anti theft solution, I added a cable and lock to the dish also, don't want to magically disappear when we are not in our RV but this makes the odds better when someone is fooling with it.

Extra protection for my King Tailgater Satellite Dish
First, this item is secondary protection from theft for your King Tailgater Satellite Antenna. Primary protection is to have it securely locked with a security cable (unless satellite dish is permanently roof-mounted). Even though this won't entirely prevent theft, it will help. Once setup, the device will have a constant beeping sound if the cable is disconnected from the satellite dish. I can hear it through a cabinet, but it is not loud enough to wake someone from sleep. Beeping will stop once it is disconnected from the satellite receiver or the receiver is unplugged. I wish it were a little louder (hence 4 stars), but I can hear it if in another room. Also, be aware that this will only work with the King Tailgater. It will not work with Winegard satellite antenna products. I believe that the Dish Tailgater is also made by King, so it should work with that product as well.
