King tailgater works fine for one tv off of main jack. don,t buy if you want second TV. it wont work and you will not be happy for second TV. only works for one.
Likes- ease of use with 1 Wally, very few issues and reliable reception. Ease of install in RV roof with quick disconnect roof mount (purchased separately). Able to move on rv roof or off roof when camped in trees for reception if needed. Dislikes- secondary/aux Wally for bedroom tv very temperamental. Sometimes it works fine and sometimes it takes multiple reboots to be able to watch tv (up to 1/2 hr to get it going). Also note you can only watch channels that are on the same satellite as the primary tv/Wally is viewing which is documented in the sales info. Dish does a good job of organizing their HD & SD channels so to can work around this in most cases. Would rate 5 stars for 1 tv and would rate 2 for aux/secondary Wally/tv function due to the Wally reset complications/time required.
We just returned from a 15 day trip with our RV trailer. I mounted the King DTP 4550 dish on top of our RV trailer with the mount that allows you to quickly remove the dish. We stayed in 10 RV parks in Nevada , California and Oregon. We were watching our complete DISH network programs within 8-10 minutes every time in full HD picture. We always asked the RV park attendants for a space with no trees on the south side of us. In one of the spaces we had a tree that was really close so I moved forward about 4 ft and we got a signal. If this unit is setup properly you won’t have any problems with it. This is the perfect setup for DISH TV customers. I dont understand all the really negative reviews. This dish with the Wally has been perfect every time we have used it. We are a previous Direct TV customer—— never again.
There was some confusion about acquiring a signal by Dish from either the Wally or the King Tailgater Pro 4900. It took a few transfers of my call at Dish to get the signal acquired. I had already activated the Wally but thought that is what they wanted to complete the install. It was the antenna signal they wanted to acquire.
The tailgater works fine, however the Wally receiver did not work! Not happy.
The tailgater works real well on reception on main tv! BUT, the second jack does not work so well or it’s the Wally or both. It takes a long time for the second line to adjust when you change Chanel’s
Wow my DTP4950 came today and was easy to set up with the Wally receiver. Excellent picture quality!
